I'm working on a series of landscape paintings under the heading of Evening Sky, this being no1. The paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature and the way light changes the colours of the scenery. I wanted to capture the mood and atmosphere of a sunset, when the sky and the earth are filled with warm and bright hues.
I used a palette knife to apply the paint in thick layers, creating a rich and textured surface.
